Working with the same tool: "Now we really collaborate!" Milagros Trigo is a energic and enthuasistic headmaster in Calicia, Spain. Her school C.P.I O CRUCE de CERCEDA is quite big school with 413 students, who are 3 - 18 year old. In this school there is Kindergarten, Primary, Secondary school and a vocational course. This school is also national coordinator for 5 Spanish schools participating IPM Tools project.
"Our teachers want to learn and do new things"The collaboration in different EU and other projects started some years ago. And there seems to be no stop for participating in project work at this school. The snowball effect happened and Milagros tells that teachers are now asking her questions like "What could we do next?"
The transnational projects have given to teachers innovative ideas and models and they have surely integrated these to everyday schoolwork.
"It all began with CCE"A couple of years ago this school was one of Calician schools that were invited to training seminar in Calicia. During this seminar teachers got acquinted with CCE, Comenius Collaboration Environment, that offered different tools for Comenius projects by Peda.net project of Institute for Educational Research.
The Peda.net Web Magazine was very interesting tool for Milagros. Quite quickly she started to use it and trained some of her teachers to use it too. They liked to work with this tool that was easy enough for teachers but also for students too. They started to try different things with this tool, and the other schools were also interested in finding what they succeeded to produce.
"We have used to collaborate with Comenius 1 project partners"During the past two years Web Magazine have been used with their Comenius 1 project work and also with IPM Tools (Innovative Pedagogical Methods to integrate web based tools into learning and teaching) project.
Students and teachers in C.P.O. Cruce and other Galician IPM Tools pilot schools have written texts, visualized them with photos or scanned pictures and voice. During this process all they have learned a lot, about their subjects and how to produce something to be published on Internet. [Have a closer look at this article]
"There's always something new and interesting to do and collaborate!" says Milagros with twinkle in her eyes - one can't deny that she really means it :-)
